It’s another beautiful day and this weekend is not only about live music, but of course, the Superbowl. Lots going on -
If you’re in the mood for Live Music -
Tonight – Population 5 will be at the Alternative Café- with Fox-tails Brigade performing tomorrow evening. And Carla Blackwell will perform at Casa Sorrento this evening for the Salinas folks. While tomorrow Zebop – will play a tribute to Carlos Santana.Other:
I do want to mention that Saturday is the Third Annual County Crab Feed at the North County Recreation Center in Castroville.
As for Comedy -
Comedians Quinn Dahle & Bill Scott will do some great standup at the Planet Gemini in Monterey both Friday & Saturday. Quinn has been featured on the George Lopez Show – and has worked with Drew Carey, Robin Williams and Dana Carvey to name a few. Pretty impressive!
As for Art, Theatre for Friday & Saturday -
First Friday Art Walk in Oldtowne Salinas tonight - from 5-8pm For a great night out with the kids, take them down to Hartnell College Planetarium to see A Legend of The Night Sky - it should be a fantastic time. While the ever wonderful “Hairspray” will have shows at Golden Bough Theatre in Carmel The ever so sassy and sweet 'Sweet Tarts Burlesque Show is going on at The Paper Wing Theatre - I'm looking forward to that! Mean Girls – at Monterey High And the documentary film – Miss Representation – that was written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom – wife of Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom - will be at Carmel High School Performing Arts Center on Saturday evening. Betty Buckley – The voice of Broadway will be at the Sunset Center in Carmel as well.And we can’t go without mentioning -
And again, if you are looking for somewhere to watch the Superbowl on Sunday – I’ll share with you some hot spots!

Live Music-
Miss Lonely Hearts will perform tonight at the Crepe Place and Bryn Loosley & The Back Page on Saturday night. – and Alo at Moe’s Alley (a fantastic dance band) Just Cream who will be performing hits of Eric Clapton and Creams career. They'll perform with Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers - a ZZ Top tribute band. - should be a lot of fun at Don Quixotes Saturday evening.The Hot Pick for live music - is at the Catalyst tomorrow evening - Marianne Aya Omac will be joined by the ever talented Joan Baez.

This is going on at Hidden Valley Music Seminars in Carmel Valley and all the proceeds go to help him with that surgery. Live music by the UnDecided – Rose Merrill & Emily Villareal – food provided by Plaza Linda. They’ll be silent and live auctions, raffles and much more.
