BILL ROTH’S MAN ON THE STREET
KNRY – 1240 AM/ TUESDAY'S 7:05-8:00PM
Man on the street is a take-off of the original Steve Allen’s Tonight Show, which was the first TV show of that name. Bill always liked the style of Steve Allen, and modeled his show, Man On The Street, after those original TV shows.
However, Bill is a radio fellow from way back, and has always enjoyed listening to and for the past 12 years, broadcasting a variety of radio shows. His start in radio broadcasting was at the local public broadcast station, KAZU, where he broadcast jazz and classical music, plus a series where he interviewed many of the local people in the Monterey Bay area. Bill also broadcast with KION and KRML.
The Man On The Street show is a production of recorded music relating to the singers and jazz musicians from the Ballad days. He frequently has live musicians on the air, and a variety of very interesting guests, who discuss their fascinating backgrounds. There are stories, jokes, and an opportunity for the listeners to sit back and relax, and have some fun. |
