"Footloose and Fancy Fare" is the Theme of the Taste of Carmel 2011, Being Held in the Courtyard of Carmel Mission
September 2, 2011, Carmel, CA: The Taste of Carmel, one of the California Central Coast’s premier showcase food & wine events, will be held on October 6, 2011 from 6-9pm in the courtyard of the gracious old Carmel Mission founded in 1770.
Over 30 outstanding Carmel restaurants will provide enticing and varied selections of appetizers, main courses and desserts, along with fine wines from 20 area vineyards.
So far, participating restaurants include A.W. Shucks Cocktail & Oyster Bar, Andre's Bouchee Bistro & Wine Bar, Anton & Michel, Aubergine at L'Auberge Carmel, Bahama Island Steakhouse, Basil, Bountiful Basket, The Carmel Coffee House, Earthbound Farms, Forge in the Forest, Fresh Cream Restaurant, Grill on Ocean Avenue, Highland's Inn, Hola! Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, Il Fornaio, Kurtz Culinary, Nielsen Bros. Market & Deli, Porta Bella, Terry's at the Cypress Inn, and Wills Fargo Restaurant.
Wineries participating include Bernardus Winery, Carmel Ridge, Chateau Julien Wine Estate, Figge Cellars, Heller Estate Organic Vineyards, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, Joullian Vineyards, Ltd, Mesa Del Sol, Morgan Winery, Robert Talbott Vineyards, Ventana / Le Mistral, Vino Napoli, Wrath Wines.
This year’s theme “Footloose and Fancy Fare” encourages attendees to come dressed in their best 80’s attire for an evening of wining, dining and dancing under the stars. There will be a silent auction featuring items and services from local businesses. Artist Simon Bull will be creating a painting live at the event.
